Wow, that is a long time, but if they are going to be setting stuff up, it might not be too bad. Maybe you could have a local deli make up some sandwich platters that can be delivered to the church so the guys can just kick back relax, have a snack and set up. Just a suggestion!!

they can do it, but that does seem to be a little long...

but, if you really do need them to help with preparations, then have them go.

If they would be just hanging out and waiting for an hour and a half, that may be a bit too long.

I think you should also check with the church. I asked to schedule my wedding 30 minutes earlier and they said no because they have funerals during that time. I just wanted you to be aware that they might not be allowed in the church to do those things so early if something else is going on.

I am having the same problem. My parent's house is 30 minutes away from the church, so the guys would have to be dropped off at least an hour early at the church.
I am debating whether to do this or not just to save some $$ on the limos.
Esp since I am getting married in June, I would fee horrible if FH and his groomsmen had to wait on a really hot day....
Would it be terrible if the groomsmen drove themselves to the church???

I think it is definitley worth finding out. It sounds like a great idea. I am having issues myself deciding who will do the set up. If they are comfortable doing it then it should work out well.

check with the church....some may have other things sdcheduled on the same day and you wouldn't want them to be hanging out waiting for somethign else to end first!

Depends what time your ceremony is! Mine is the last one of the day so I know I can't set up that far in advance if there is a wedding in the slot before mine. If you are the first (or only) ceremony of the day, maybe you can. But because your wedding is on a Sunday, you might have trouble with the masses going on. I don't see a problem with them getting there that early, just with setting up because there may be other things going on... you really have to check with the church.

i depends on the church. i know my church has three time slots, the first slot might have a funeral before it, then the next two slots start 1 1/2 hours after the previous slot began(so you might only have a half hour)

I agree...I'd check with the church and see what they have going on before your wedding. Otherwise, time will probably fly for them if they'll be setting things up and I'm sure some guests will arrive alittle early also
