Re: Get your drinks and your snacks! Friends....

I just watched this at a friends house and I cried! I have season 1-7 on DVD....i love this show and everything about it!

Just to comment...i read an article i believe in Newsweek this week about Friends. And the guy goes on and on about how Friends is a good show (but not a great show) and how it really showed Generation X in their 20s and how life is so different then our parents....and it made us feel good....well this guys goes on to say we loved Friends not because it was reality but because it made us see a little bit of our reality, but yet escape the reality of life. For example...after 9/11, even though they lived in NYC you never had a 'very special episode' but you had those things that reminded you of it like the magnadoodle of the NYFD or Joey wearing the NYFD t-shirt. The guy ends the article with saying that these Friends gave us the 30 minutes of laugh and a little bit of non reality to enjoy it.

That is why it made sense to make Paul show up for about 2 minutes and Emma no where to be seen and Monica and Chandler dealing with the Foozball table even though their babies are in the other apartment. Its not reality---we all know that but we have loved it because it never has been...it has showed us how much fun Friends can be...

Okay I am a little sad...in case you can't see......
