We went to an RE after 10 months of trying. I didn't wait for my gyn to tell me to go because I thought he wasn't doing enough to help me so I went on my own. The RE did all the tests on me and we'll start treatments this cycle.
My insurance though does not need a referral, but if yours does you'll need to wait for your gyn first. And definately make sure your insurance covers the RE your interested in because it gets very expensive.

I know of a good DR in Nassau( friend tried for 15 months) he gave her some alternate treatments, she got pregnant within 4 months ( meds, etc, nothing major) and she is having her baby TODAY! ( in l & D now!)
I will be using him too once its my time, I heard a million people RAVE about this guy ( I am in health insurance field) I think he is in Garden city...where are you?
