I am very much anti black at weddings. Remember, a wedding is a happy occassion and I feel that what you wear should project your happiness for the couple. Black, to me, belongs at gallery openings and funerals.

I agree, but however..you have a few people who told me straight out..that they will be wearing black to my wedding. I could not say anything. I have worn, black and white dresses/royal blue color dress/wine color. I would suggest long or below the knee length.

I personally think that black is a very elegant color and hence many people wear it to weddings and has nothing to do with celebrating the couple's new life. I think anyone should wear to a wedding according to the day that the wedding is taking place, the time of day and the season. Since it's summer, I'd wear a summery color, knee length or a bit longer or a black cocktail dress is always perfect for any occassion where you are not sure what to dress. JMO

I think black is perfectly fine! But it IS summer, you could consider wearing something brighter or more colorful too

Jen, I agree! I think that black is a safe bet (that is actually all I have a whole bunch of black dresses). Black is elegant and timeless. I think you should wear a little black dress, maybe T-length. Good Luck.

i always wear black to weddings...and u know what who cares, as long as u look good, thats how I feel

I've worn black to every wedding I've ever been at except when I was a BM. I'm going to wear black to 2 weddings in the fall. I think it's the most formal and elegant. I don't think it gives a sense of unhappiness at all. At the weddings I've been to, most of the people have worn black. It's slimming!
