I don't think I need a therapist or anything and I feel silly even thinking I do.
Feel silly thinking that you do?
Yeah, just that I'm normally not prone to these feelings, so I feel that it would be silly to talk to a therapist about it when it might just be a passing thing?
all the more reason to go...
everyone needs a little help sometime in their life...

Re: is it normal to be this sad all the time?
thanks all!
I think when it all comes down to it - I still have a lot to adjust to. After hearing back from you all and listening to the little voice in my head that's been saying the same thing, I'm seriously considering just finding a therapist now and finding my way through this wierd point in my life. Wierd bc I'm so happy and sad all at once, and it's a bit much to keep dealing with alone. Well, I'm about to go home for the night, but I just wanted to thank all of you once again for responding so warmly to my original post. It really helped me get through the day today, and I'm genuinely touched that you all care so much :) I'm glad we have this forum where we can all help each other out like this. Hugs again to everyone for all of your support!!!!

I get this way sometimes. Married life just seems so final in a way--I can see the rest of my life in a straight line, which is nice, but just not so exciting. I used to feel like I could pick up and move whenever I wanted to, or quit my job...And all of a sudden there are all these grown-up responsibilities...A mortgage, a fiance, car payments...It's scary and somewhat depressing, that this is what it will be like, for the rest of our lives...
Anyway,
Wow... I couldn't put into better words... exactly how I feel! I never imagined my life would be so predictable... on one level, it's very comforting... on another... it's scary... 10 years ago, when I thought of my life in 10 years, I imagined myself digging a cave somewhere in Egypt or something... not that I have any regrets... but it's funny where life leads us...
