we were together all through college and did our fair share of being on again and off again for about 6 months or so...
it was all worth it though because we learned so much from it!! also at the time neither of us really wanted to put in the effort that wa needed....

We've had our fights... we 'broke up' for about 2 weeks a few years ago. What that basically meant was that we talked on the phone for 2 hours a night isntead of 4. Well, I'm exagerrating, we really didn't talk that much and we didn't see each other for weeks. We reunited on Valentine's Day. All the while though, we knew we'd get back together, we just needed some space to learn to appreciate each other.
All of the guys I ACTUALLY broke up with in a final sort of way, and got back together turned out not to be the one. usually if you break up for real, there's a reason and that reason isn't going to go away, unless there'a lot of time and hard work involved

We broke up a few times.
I was 17 and he was 20 when we met. We were too young to be so serious right away.

We broke up for 9 days in 1996! I will never forget it! I was 18 and so upset!!!

yes and no
we did talk about 'breaking up' on one of his trips to NY (he had gone to CA for grad school soon after we started dating).
We decided the distance was too hard, and that we should 'break up'. Basically that took some of the pressure off, and things only got better. So I guess we broke up but nothing changed. We still talked all the time and on the next trip tp NY we were together without ever really discussing it again.
Just a few months later we started talking about me moving to CA, and the rest is history.

Oh geez, the answer is yes. We were going out for 2 weeks and he broke up with me via cellphone. I remember it like it was yesterday and I hold it over him, lol. I was driving down East Shore Road in Port Wash turning onto Main Street when he said he had to break up with me. I hung up on him before getting a reason b/c at that point I could give a crap what his reason was. Well, I went out that night with a friend and I saw him there, did not look at him nor say a word. He followed me to my car and I cracked the window open..listened to him for about 2 minutes and drove off. We got back together 2 days later. I knew he was the one and told him he was being ridiculous. Pfffft!

yes, we broke up...we broke up about 6 months of dating and then I called off our engagement because I was too afriad to get married..thank God I came to my senses....but we had a few break ups, they were hurtful and both times I was an idiot!! I put my poor husband through HELL!
