I think that stuff should be pretty standard, but I don't think I would hand that list to a guy on a first date.

I don't know...The things in the list definitely change over time. Honestly, the chills and excitement have died down a little, but they have been replaced by stability and a sense of protection--of not worrying about whether this will end, and knowing that regardless of what happens, we will work through it. My mom told me to list the 3 most important things in a man, then choose the most important. And said I am lucky if I get that one characteristic. For me what was most important was a genuinely kind, gentle man, who I loved talking to. I know when we get old talking will be the most important thing.

Only hand the guy the list if you dont want to see him again....That would be a good way to get rid of someone

I agree with Beth...the excitement and thrills die down a bit over time and the sense of security, knowing they will love you and always be there starts to set in. Hearing my husband say 'that's going to be us in 60 years' when he sees an older couple holding hands in the mall or sitting on a park bench gets me all warm and fuzzy inside.

You'll find your man Jenny! But he better be good enough for you!!!
