I thinking taking her out on your OWN is nice. We do group outtings too but for those *I* am close to, we go out alone just to chit chat.

If she's getting a new place, I know you don't like gift certificates but I'd give a Pier 1 gift cert along with lunch and a nice card - to new beginnings.

since she's moving, what about sending a plant or flowers to her new place. or maybe a metro card - that's sure to come in handy since she's moving to the city.

When I left a job my co-workers got me a really nice address/phoen book and they all entered theor info so I was guaranteed to keep in touch with them, they also got me stationary, a journal. stuff like that
