I think it would upset me a little bit. But if you are not invited, maybe they're doing it to avoid any akwardness, even if there really wouldn't be any?

If you're not invited, maybe you can just do something with your ex-fsil to celebrate?

I would be upset if I liked them and felt like I was friends with them, but I would understand. It's probably best for you if you are not invited to the shower. It would be awkward for you and for the family.

Eh...it's a very sensitive issue....they invite you and people unaware of your situation assume you and he were back together.....not being invited Tto the block party could be because the family will be there and might not know how to react to you.

I would possibly send a shower gift to her home.

I agree that it might just be to save any awkward moments - I'm sure it's not personal! It sounds like a touchy issue, but I think celebrating with her on your own will probably be more fun for the both of you anyway. Maybe treat her to dinner or lunch one day - something nice like that will show her you care, but will avoid any uncomfortable 'ex' moments

I think that even if I was invited, I would not go, just out of the awkwardness of it all.

I would be sad but I wouldn't be upset/mad.

Take the ex-FSIL out to lunch next week to celebrate together.

I'd probably be upset too...but, as you know, it's understandable why you wouldn't be invited.
