Thanks. How far in advance did you do that? Did you have a rehearsal like Catholic ceremonies?
As for the meeting with the priest, we only did that appointment a couple months before our wedding ceremony (though every parish may be different, so I'm sure yours will let you know what to be done)
Basically the priest just went over all our 'paperwork' with us (name of our Koumbara and letter of good standing, wanted copies of both my baptism in the Catholic church and DH's in the Greek Church, etc.) Otherwise he just wanted to chat with us and get to know us, etc. He was a great guy and despite my nervousness, it was actually FUN
We held our rehearsal the Friday before our Sunday wedding. At our church (St. Paraskevi's in Greenlawn) the entire rehearsal was conducted by the ORGANIST! She was phenominal. Imagine my surprise, though. Here I was waiting for the priest to walk in (as had been my experience in the past as a BM at rehearsals for Catholic ceremonies and the like). Yet the organist was the one who told us everything about our wedding....the explained the exact way to walk in, all the steps of the ceremony, etc.
This might not be the norm for all GO churches, though..

Re: Greek Wedding Ceremonies
TP329 - some non-Greek people got up and danced...mostly my mothers friends who have been to all their Greek functions and some of my friends. The bagpipes were fine... they played for 10 - 15 minutes. For my dance with my dad, we did some American song (we aren't very close), so it was something not very mushy!
