Re: Question for you Brides who were engaged or married before..

hi,

i definitely felt that way. as a matter of fact, i swore off marriage altogether. that is, until i met another man that i wanted to be with forever... but that took a while.

i think what you are going through is part of the natural process of mourning a loss. also, i think that your negative feelings towards having a wedding may be a reaction to having had to 'undo' the wedding you had planned. i can understand how painful this entire situation has been for you

i think that when you do find love again, you will want to share your happiness with everyone by having a wedding!! but if you don't want one, or want something more low-key, that's okay too. just follow your heart.

Jenny,

I was the one that wanted a smaller low-key wedding, but DH could not choose between all his friends to be his groomsmen....so we ended up with a BP of 15 people.

There were the people that 'had' to be invited. There was family that would be insulted had they not been invited.

I wish it could have been the small initimate affair I wanted it to be....would I change anything about the way it was...NO! Well...maybe minor things.

Your feelings will change...you'll want a wedding, but maybe not a full out affair. Go for the small intimate affair. It's more romantic and personal. But YES, your feelings WILL change. I promise.

I think your feelings might change when you meet the right person. If not, an intimate beach wedding is a beautiful thing. But don't be surprised if when you meet Mr. Right, you end up wanting a huge 250 person affair with all the trimmings!!

Re: Question for you Brides who were engaged or married before..

Hi,

This is my second marriage and I used to swear that I would never have a big wedding again. I always used to say that I would just elope in Las Vegas. But, that all changed when I met my fiance. He has never been married before and wanted a wedding and I certainly am not going to deny him that. Plus, I want my wedding memories to be with my fiance, not my first husband. Granted, there are times when the planning stresses me out and I'll think to myself that we should have just eloped, but I think everyone goes through a little bit of that. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!

I think it depends on the situation of your future husband.

My sister was engaged when her wedding was called off 3 months before. The guy she is involved with now was married before to so there is no way they want to have a big wedding one day.

If your FH never had a big wedding and wanted one you wouldnt want to deny him that but if he was content with a small affair because thats what you wanted, then thats cool too.

Hi Jenny - I hope all is going well - and don't worry at all about how your feelings changed or what you want out of a wedding. These next few days are going to be tough, and I think once you get past this weekend everything will be much easier - by then it will really all be behind you... literally!
