Re: how do you know if your bellyring is healed enough to change the ring??

your best bet would be to go to a store to buy one and ask them

Is it still scabby? Does it hurt? Is it irritated?

If its totally fine, and the ring moves smoothly like an earring in your ear, then its fine to change it.

If you change it yourself, sterilize everything, the new ring you put in, and also your belly button should be cleansed w/ peroxide.

When you put the new ring in, I would dip it in Neosporin for easy maneuvering.

Yeah dont touch it yet.........if you want to speed the healing process, it wont hurt to pour peroxide over it every couple of days and put some vitamin e cream on it.

What are you changing it into? A barbell?

I got mine pierced in Northern Ireland, and they told me to use Salene solution. It worked great. I waited 2-3 months before changing it. I've had it for 3 1/2 years, and I've never had a problem

I have a butterfly one as well.

Barbells are alot easier for me.......I can wear it every day w/ no problem, but w/ the butterfly one, I felt it got irritated too easily--if I wore it, it would be for one nite--not weeks long...

Maybe you will have better luck with yours.

I would wait 6 weeks, that is standard, but if you do not want to wait, go back & have the piercer change it for you & check to see how it is healing.
