Maybe you can go back and say listen, I didn't want to hurt your feelings but yes I have been busy at work and while it's really nice for you to leave me messages about bands or cd's and books, I really have to concentrate on my wedding and I just don't have time to look at them.

I think you did the right thing. He is getting the message - keep on brushing him off and he will go away. I am sure you didn't want to out and out hurt the guys feelings, that would just have been akward.

Are you sure this guy dosen't have a crush on you?

But what does my mouth say? 'Oh no no, I've just been busy trying to get my work done ramble-ramble-ramble blah-blah-no-problem-cakes, don't feel like talking politics, that's all, balk-balk-balk.'

So I had a perfectly good out, but instead of going for the jugular I backed off becuase I didn't want to hurt his annoying feelings.
