Well the say that 10-20% say no for whatever reason, that percentage may go up if you have a lot of OOT guests. If you can only afford 125, I would invite in the range of 140-150 guests.

Re: How many guests do you invite?
i think the 'rule' is that about 15% don't show... you could always invite 125 and then have some on the 'b' list to invite if you get nos...
good luck!

Re: How many guests do you invite?
Have a B list - send invites to all the people you really want. As you get back 'no' RSVPs, you can send out invites to the people on the B list. We should have done this, but didn't...we only wanted 120 max and invited 160...thinking some people would say no...so far, after 3 wks we have 73 yesses and only 3 nos!!

Re: How many guests do you invite?
The average decline rate is somewhere between 15% -- 20%
We invited around 220 (possibly more) and wound up with 180 so our decline rate was about 18%.
You should invite more than 125, maybe around 140 - 150.

As many as you can afford?
I can really only afford about 125 max. Do I only invite that many? Or do I invite more and hope people don't come.
oh meeeee too....

Re: How many guests do you invite?
I didn't get 20% of the people not coming. Mine was more like 5%. Be careful when inviting. Don't invite too many more because they might actually COME

Re: How many guests do you invite?
We invited 190 people and I really wanted 150. I have 157, so that's about 18%. I thought everyone was going to come but thank goodness they didn't. I was soooo stressed about this.
And it's true what they say, 50% of the people you thought weren't coming will and 10% of the people you were sure were coming wont.
Lots of luck!

Re: How many guests do you invite?
I'm sending out save the dates this week to the exact # of guests I'd like to have. I'm hoping that I'll get an idea of who might or might not be able to come based on responses I get. There's no formal response required to a save the date, but I think if people know they can't make it, they'll let me know before it comes time to send out invites. Then I'll have a better idea of how many additional people I'll be able to invite.
