You'll probably just have to call car services near you. I live in Queens and it's usually about $25 to JFK.

Good luck!

Jenny it depends on the company. If you look up taxi or limosine service (which you can ask for a Lincoln towncar and I don't think it's more expensive than your regular 'taxi' cab) you should be able to find some companies that service Farmingdale. I'd call and ask a few.

I'd say not more than $50.

I think it would be about $50 each way but you'd have to ask since I woudn't know for sure. I've only taken a cab to JFK from the Bronx and it's $40 but it could be from where you are.

How about taking the LIRR to Jamaica then the AirTrain to JFK.

LIRR will be about $7 - $10 to Jamaica and then the AirTrain is $5 for a one way. The AT requires a MetroCard so if you have one already you can save some $.

Just a suggestion...

The plane leaves at 8am...Lord knows how early I'd have to be up and take the 45 minute train ride to Jam. then the shuttle.

I think driving/service is much better.

I was hoping to get my car repaired while I am away. so that's why I am asking about service

Ok, that makes sense.

I know a cab would be a lot cheaper then car service. Just call the local cab company by your house and ask them how much they charge, it should be around $45.

I took a cab from South Bellmore to JFK and for 1 person my local cab service was $30 - I thought that is a fair price. For two people it was $35.

how do I get home,,,,,can I set something up with them???

I usually call for the cab when I get off the plane so by the time I get to baggage they are there.

However I just remembered that you live out east - you can probably make a reservation with them ahead of time

Bring the phone number with you on the trip but when you first call to book the taxi, tell them you want someone to pick you up on whatever date. And then confirm the day beforehand. Or morning of.

It's about 40.00 from Hicksville/East Meadow area. There's also those Air Shuttle Vans that drive around and pick people up. I'll try to remember the phone# next time I see one.

I just went away this weekend, and took the Airtrain from Penn (but obviously you can take it from LI too) to Jamaica and got on the airtrain. It was easy, and much cheaper than taking a cab. The Airtrain is $5 each way, plus whatever your fare is on LIRR. It drops you off right in the drop off area, so you dont have to walk far to get to the terminal either.

Classic Transportation $38 for *shared* shuttle bus (ask about that because you're leaving early in the morning - will there be any others to share? If not do you still pay the same price?) and about $98 for private.
That's the price for one way. You make reservations online.

Farmingdale Taxi
387 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, NY 11735
(516) 249-1212
$55 one way (that's an approximate)
