Now, if you were the shallow mean person I am, and not the generous wonderful person you are...why not offer to leave behind your flowers and favors so she doesn't, uh, have to do anything?

I am having KIND of a similar situation. DH's cousin copied A LOT of the things from our wedding. Finally, when the bride changed her color from lilac to the EXACT shade of red that I had, I got annoyed. His family keeps trying to poke and prod at me to see if I'm annoyed. Finally, I just said, 'Hmmm, it's surpring to me that she is choosing so many of the same things that the family recently saw at my wedding. I guess she's not that involved with making her day her own'

thats something i would say. i wouldnt worry about it though because if she wants a wedding that everyone is going to be comparing to yours and you know it wont compare then she is should go for it. in the end people are going to know she is copying you and she is going to look bad

It would definitely annoy me that she put it down, and is now considering it - it's obvious that she originally put it down just to make you feel bad. (Insert 'shaking head slowly in disapproval' emoticon.) I would ignore her and focus on your happy day. She seems to be a very unhappy person with low self esteem who feels the need to put others down to make herself feel better.

Don't let it get to you. - She's obviously trying to bother you b/c she wouldn't have passed a comment like that and then put the place on her list.
and honestly - WHY would she WANT to get married at the same place as her brother only a few months after ??
The only reason I can think of is b/c she's afraid anything she does after all the work YOU'VE done won't measure up .......So, if she gets married in the same place, 90% of the comparison is already gone.....

Thank you!!! OMG that is sooo funny!!! I would never say it b/c it would start world war 3 in fh's house.

BUT my fh did ask her ' oh what happened I thought our hall isnt your taste blah blah blah'
She's like well ' Since I went to your food tasting I know the food is excellent'

Honestly, don't sweat it...she will lose on this one...everyone will know of yours and I actually feel bad for her cuz you know someone (Like an elderly well meaning aunt) is going to say something like, oh, that BM dress was so pretty at Soon to be's wedding, I am so glad the girls got to wear it again!

I loved the hall one of my brothers was married at and it was my 'style' (The Riviera) but I wanted a place that would be memorable as the place where I had my wedding. I think it's sad that she can't be bothered to try and make her day original and special.

ETA: Would I be pissed if I were you? Hell yes!

She's trying to cause trouble. - Is she feeling left out b/c you and FH are planning a big wedding ?? - WHO CARES what she likes or what her style is - worry about your own wedding and your own plans ! you're first anyway ! Like I said, anything after yours will be comparison, and after seeing you on these boards for the last few months I've been here, - You could plan the Queen of England's wedding !!!
