Holy cow. I'm sorry you have to deal with this unnecessary stress so close to your wedding day!

I don’t really have any suggestions on how to get your $ back but I'm happy you were able to book your first choice!

You sound calmer than I would be.

I think your first thing to do is dig out contracts to make sure you have ground to get your money back.

Then I say go with your first choice and enjoy your wedding day and did with this headache after.

I am so sorry you have to deal with this.

My only advice would be to fight and not give up until you are satisfied! But at the same time - take the time to enjoy whatever opportunities do come your way - you're only doing this once in your life! Don't let your lasting memory be that of fighting the weeks building up to the big day!

Get a lawyer to draft a letter immediately stating breach of contract. Do you have all these 'promises' in writing????

Sometimes things work out for the best, and in the grand scheme of things, you wouldn't really be losing that much money. At least you now have your first choice.
Do you now have to set up a phone chain to let your guests know that your hall has changed? I suggest that you DO NOT do that yourself. Have your bridal party do it, you don't need the added stress.

thats great for you! I am so glad it worked out with the other hall!! and now you have your first choice and I am sure they gave you an amazing deal seeing as how your wedding is 25 days away!!! thats probably a record for them!! its also a good thing you havent given your hall too much!! by the 25 day mark my hall requires having at least 50% of the total price

Help me howard is that news guy who fights for people who are getting screwed over!

You are perfectly within your rights to get a full refund because they did not LIVE UP TO WHAT'S IN THE CONTRACT. Glad you got a new place! You might not get back the $2,600 right away. But get it back. You may want to consider reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and let them know that your experience with them will be FM'd all over LIW!!

Well, someone is definitely looking out for you if the you found your 'dream' hall with 25 days to spare! that is amazing! this wedding is obviuosly suppseod to take place. As far as handling the other hall, i really have no advice acept to maybe get an attorney

Oh my goodness Kathy!!!! Bravo on handling this so well. I am so sorry this had to happen to you!! But on the bright side, you now have your first choice hall!!! There's always a silver lining... I know the place you orginally booked and when I had to get some money back from them years ago, it was fairly painless. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get all your money back with the least amount of stress possible.
