Re: make up frustrations
what did you not like about them--was it color choice or foundation or something else. Some places do airbrush, some traditional foundation and others mineral make up--maybe trying something other then what you tried would be better?

Re: make up frustrations
I have not gone to any trials yet...I don't think that the makeup will look the same if I have a tan so I want to wait awhile longer. I think it could have something to do with you not wearing makeup. I don't usually wear brightly colored lipstick and if I do, I feel like I look off. It could also be that you just don't like the style that they are doing. Have you liked certain parts of the makeup....you should take pics and point out what you liked about each and what you didn't like.

Re: make up frustrations
how much 'creative direction' have you given them??Maybe they are just not doing what you like.

Re: make up frustrations
Why not try going to a make up counter when they have an 'expert' from one of the cosmetic companies there to show you something flattering, or try experimenting with make up on your own at a store like Sephora or Mac to see what colors look good on you.If you want, and have pictures from your make up trials, perhaps you could post them and we can give you our opinions?
Or if you have friends or family with similar complexions whose make up style and tastes you like, could you ask them what products they use and see if they look good on you? Then you would at least know the products you are using are flattering. Once you have the colors picked the application process should be easier.
It could also be that you are just not used to wearing a lot of make up and wedding make up tends to be on the heavy side so that it will show up in pictures and last throughout the wedding.
