Yeah, you can do the Mazinka if it's the parents' only child. I know they did it at my friend's wedding and she's an only child.

Yes, because an only child is the last child to get married (and the first!) I've seen it done for only children.

G-d willing my sister will get married someday. I hoped shed get married before me but that's not gonna happen. I would have loved the Mazinka at my wedding. All of the other siblings are married.

YAY that's awesome! fh's is the last child too, so we can do it with all the parents then.
will the dj know the music?
when does this usually happen? begining, middle, or the end of the reception?

It's usually toward the end, from what I've seen. I'd ask your DJ if he has the music. We had a band that generally plays Jewish weddings, so I didn't have to think about it.

Re: jewish brides
the one time I saw it it was sort of toward the end, but not in the very last hour, if that makes sense. it was between dinner and cake.
We're both the youngest, but Fh's parents (the jewish ones) don't want it.
And now I'm pissed with them for refusing to pay a dime toward the wedding even thogh they know we are struggling, so... I don't really want to honour them anyway
