Oh, I'm so sorry. She definitely shouldn't have said that. I know that my wedding is also causing my mom stress too and its so hard to plan it all like you want it to be when you know its causing other people stress. Unfortunately, I think we all go through times when planning the wedding seems like a whole heck of a lot of work for one day but in the end, it'll all be worth it. Here's a hug in the meantime

Re: Anyone else's wedding...
I feel the same way. When I first got engaged I booked all my big vendors right away and I was so ahead of the game. Now I don't want to do anything and I have so much to do, I am sick of thinking about the wedding and what I have to do. A part of me just wishes it was tomorrow and everything was done and I still have 4 months. I am sure there will be even more stress as it gets closer. So no you are not alone. But hang in there, you are almost there

I'm sorry to hear that. My sisters have been causing me grief so I just stopped sharing things with them and am making the arrangements with just FH and I. Maybe you should do the same with your mom, well that is if she is not paying for it......

I feel better knowing there are others dealing with this stress too.
EVERYONE has the stress but they deal with it differently, I am one who gets VERY stressed and FH doesnt know the meaning of the word, at least with wedding planning- we should get together...and be stressed together lol

Re: Anyone else's wedding...
I think if I had to do it all over again, I would DEFINATLY elope! Maybe get married in Hawaii or something! It just caused too much stress with my parents, my FH, and all, and SO MUCH and I am NOT even getting 1/2 of what I wanted!
BIG MISTAKE!!!!

Re: Anyone else's wedding...
Oh I totally understand where your coming from my FMIL has done nothing but make me miserable. My FH and I don't want little kids and she wants her grandchildren there and I told her if thats the case then my little cousins will have to be there cuz I am not gonna fight with my family about why my FH's family was allowed to bring kids and mine wasn't. She keeps butting in. I told my FH that he needs to have a talk with her or I am gonna wind up flipping on her. Now she is ok with the no kids theory but still insist that her brother be allowed to bring his son since they probably won't be able to find a baby sitter I told her the wedding is over a year away they can find a baby sitter.
She has jsut been giving me problems that my FH and I are starting to have stupid arguements over it. sorry so long

Re: Anyone else's wedding...
My parents completely IGNORED the whole planning initially!!! I was hurt and really surprised. Then I realized they were dealing with the fact that I was leaving the house and they're going through their own things. I think maybe your mom's 'grief' is really something else.

Re: Anyone else's wedding...
Join the club... i am still miserable. For the first month of engagement i was in heaven. then we started planning and things have been awful since then... most of it is my own fault cuz i can't pick a reception site. i even called it quits on the planning for about 3 weeks and considered postponing for a year. it is really difficult having to ask other people for help. And fh and i have been sad that no one around us really seems to care: no engagement party, no cards, nothing really. But you just have to remember that all that matters is you and your fh's love and that is what this is all about. as long as your getting along with him then consider yourself lucky
I think things will get better eventually. try to take some time off and do something fun for a change that is not wedding related. Good luck

Re: Anyone else's wedding...
Try not to let them get you down. Next time someone starts making grief, throw the guilt trip on them about how this is your day and its not right for them to make it a negative experience for you! Good luck!
