Re: Those who have been to VEGAS

Places to stay - if this is your first time, I would stay on the strip. Some of my favs that I have been to are Mandalay Bay - MGM Grand - Venetian - Bellagio - NY NY - and the Luxor

how long you need there - I would stay any longer than about 4 days

do i need a car - depends on what you want to do - if it is just 'Strip stuff' you can either walk or cab it. But if you want to go to outlets, grand canyon, etc...you might want a car.

shows - without a doubt 'O' was the best show I have seen there - but any Cirque show is good. I have also heard Danny Gans is great.

We went last month--stayed at the MGM Grand which was really nice. A car is not necessary unless you want to do Grand Canyon/Red Rock, etc. I think 4-6 days would be enough for the strip. I heard the new show Ka at the MGM Grand is the best.

ETA: I went for a work conference so did all the booking myself (or, rather the secretary did).

Places to stay - Mandalay Bay was nice. They have a fake beach...
how long you need there - I stayed for 5 days. Some say a weekend is enough!
do i need a car -def. not!
shows - I went to an impersonator show (i forget which hotel) and I saw a Cirque De Sole (in Bellagio) show..which was really cool.

Any info would be great. Did you book online or through a travel agent? Travel agent. I think we got ripped off on price though..but, we also went during Columbus day weekend.

I love vegas. Any hotel in the main part of the strip is good. Depending on your budget. Belagio Venetian Paris Mandalay Bay Mirage TI We usually stay at Harrahs or the Rio (off the strip its across from the Palms which is an awesome hotel just off the strip) cause we get our room comped!

If you are not going to lake meed or anything like that you don't need a car.

We have only seen Penn & Teller it was alright.

I stayed at Mandalay Bay, loved it. The pools were the best. My hotel room was bigger than my apt. You don't need to rent a car, there are taxis everywhere. They are a little more pricier than NYC cabs. Get tickets to see Cirque du Soleil. Any questions FM.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Boardwalk which was right in the middle of the strip. The price was great and the rooms were very nice.

I had driven there from California and can tell you driving on the strip was a nightmare. Very congested. If you don't plan going any where but staying on the strip, wear comfortable shoes.

The Big Shot has to be one of my favorite rides. They just opened a new one though that dangles you over the strip and some girls got stuck on it for 2 hours. The owner said he'd give them free rides for a year. No thanks buddy!

They closed the rides when we were there because it was too windy and people could get blown off!

Re: Those who have been to VEGAS

i stayed at Luxor.
Luxor and Mandalay Bay and teh Excalibur are all attached. Luxor is in the middle.
My suggestion is to stay at the Excalibur if you want to do less walking to get to the strip.
We had to walk throug bpth hotels to get to the strip.
Although, Luxor was a hell of alot nicer than Excalibur (its more $ though too)

i realllly like Luxor. The casino is good because it has a big atrium, so its not as smokey as the other casinos.

I just went in March for our wedding, it was alot fo fun. i hope you have a great time!

The paris or bellagio are great places to stay in vegas. Balley's is nice, clean and right in the middle of the strip.
If you just plan on staying on the strip, you do not need to rent a car. You can walk from one end of the strip to the other.

Try to go see one of the cirque de soleil shows (O is the best)
There are so many good restaurants to go to. You will not go hungry. Enjoy and have fun!

I'm looking into taking a trip to vegas. Never been there before; any suggestions on:

Places to stay
how long you need there
do i need a car
shows

Any info would be great. Did you book online or through a travel agent?

thanks

I went there in 2002 then again in 2004 for my Honeymoon. I've stayed at the Aladdin and the Bellagio. I would HIGHLY recommend both places to stay. You really only need 4-5 days there, any more would be too much! If you want to visit anything off the strip I would get a car. I wouldn't get one just to ride up and down the strip only because there is A LOT of traffic on Las Vegas Blvd.

I saw 'O' and 'Mystere' which are both Cirque del Solil and they were wonderful. I liked 'O' better but they were both fantastic. If you need any other information feel free to FM me, I LOVE VEGAS!!!

I'm actually going back this Wednesday, I'm seeing Celine on Friday, I'll let you know how her show is if you're interested.
