The few times I am out of the office, no one ever covers for me, so it's just sitting waiting for me when I get back. I don't think my one day absence would impact anyone, and if it does, tough! One of my coworkers has used half of her sick days already just in the last two months alone, and no one seems to have a problem with that - so I'm pretty sure I would be okay

Take the day off. Enjoy the time you spend ith your dad. Don't feel guilty, it's only one day.
