lovely!!! i hate that condescending attitude when it comes to people with kids...the 'oh, you'll see how it is when you have kids' or 'oh, are you sure you want children?'
sorry this person said that. very snotty!

That was a rude response...I would have apologized and took the baby from you so you could clean yourself. Like you want the barf on your leg???

That was rude - I have to agree, she should have offered to take the baby back so you could go clean up. It would have been nice if she had give you a spit up rag to cover your clothes, just in case.

I'm a mother of 2, and I would NEVER impose myself on someone like that. VERY RUDE! When my friends wife had a baby last year, we went to visit and bring a gift, etc. Well, we had barely even walked thru the door, when she was like 'here, take him, I need a break!' That always stuck out in my mind, because I thought it was EXTREMELY rude!

That is so rude!
When I go visit a friend with a baby, I always Offer to hold him/her, just because I love to! In the cases where baby has spit up/thrown up, the mom has always come over to get baby so I could clean up!

Re: vent about people with kids
when I am a mom, I dont think my own baby's puke will gross me out so much... but when it is some other kids puke EWWWWWWW!!!
my first week of teaching Kindergarten art I got thrown up on alll over by a not so cute kid!! IT WAS SOOO GROSSS!!! I cant stand other kids' puke!!! yuuuuckkk
I wouldnt even hold my baby twin cousins who I LOVE and were up from FL because they were having projectile vomitting that day... after it got into my flip flop between my toes I was done holding babies!!!

I always hate if you politely decline holding the child, everyone looks at you funny and says 'come on, its not like they are contagious or anything.'

I'm sorry but I am a mom of 2 also and I think it is rude to think it is ok for your child to get sick on someone and just think 'well, you can just wash your clothes'. Yes, that is true, but I would have defintately offered to dry-clean her pants. She knew that they were nice pants, not a pair of old sweats that she didn't care about. The point is that some parents think their children are angels and that they do no wrong. Yes, it was just a little baby, but it was still wrong for her to say what she did. SHE is not the mother and shouldn't be treated like that. Sorry, just my 2 cents.

I don't think that is what Sue's point (vent) was about! The point was that she practicly threw the baby at her and then didn't offer to clean it off or take the baby back so sue could clean it. Ya it is baby puke who cares but its not Sues babies puke and its not nice to make her sit in it!

OMG - that is crazy. I never shove my daughter onto anyone unless they ask. If she ever puked on one of my friends I would immediately take her and let my friend clean themselves up - jeeeeez, I would even offer them a pair of my pants and I'd throw theirs in my washing machine!!!!
My daughter has barfed all over DH, myself and countless others w/o warning and I always feel awful - nothing worse than smelly spit up all over you.

I don't have a child yet but I would be mortified if my kid spit up on someone. I am sure I won't care when my kid inevitably spits up on me since it will be a daily event at first. But on someone else? Different story.
