I had a try on the week after it came in. I don't know what 'normal' is, but I woulf think you should be able to go in and check out what YOUR money has gotten you prior to the first fitting.

I'm glad I had a try-on, becasue when i went in, I met some girls who were crying about messed up alterations, and a few seamstresses who were really rude. I took my dress somewhere else to get it altered after that.

No I was able to go and get it right away. But I was not having my alterations done there.

They actually encourage people to come pick it up asap b/c they don't have the storage for it.

definately weird - I was told to come in and see mine... and I went back to compare veil swatches and again to try on the veil I ordered with the dress

I went to try mine on about a week or so after it came in, plus I wanted to make sure it was the correct gown and that everything was okay with it.

My dress came in way early and they let me come in a try it on and take pictures and whatnot.

My first fitting isn't until July...what store did you buy it at?

My dress was expected to come in April...and it did. When the salon called I scheduled an appt to see it and try it on right away. No problems.

I think at the very least you should be able to view it - you need to make sure it's the right dress and color.

They let me know when it was in and I made an appointment to try it on. I think they should let you at least see it.

Actually I would insist on it. What if something is wrong? They'll have enough tame to fix it now rather then let you find out at your first fitting what there's not time to get another.

My dress came in February, and although my fittings won't start until August, my salon lets me come in and see it/try it on as much as I want to. I've gone to try it on 3 times since Feb and plan on going again once my veil comes in! It's fun!!

When in June? I don't think it's the end of the world to wait a bit but like I said before I think they should at least let you see the dress to make sure everything is okay.

My Dress came in in the beggining of April and they said when ever I wanted to come down and try it on I could.

Yes this happened to me. So I told them that I would come in and pick it up (since they said once it's out of storage you must take it home if it's before your alterations) bc I really wanted to try it on. But in the end it all worked out and they didn't make me take it home.
