Re: Stuck in a rut?

When I lived alone, I used to move the furniture around the apt.

It gave me something to do ...

Also been known to chop off my hair or color it.

either cut my hair or highlight/lowlight/dye my hair...
although there have been some extreme's....I've quit two jobs to spice things up, I got my one and only tattoo to break myself out of feeling listless...and I got a piercing.....
that's about it though

Re: Stuck in a rut?

Depends on the kind of rut & how much energy I feel like putting into getting out.

For a quick fix I would dye my hair.

For a better fix, stopping a time wasting or destuctive behavior (if you have them) or adding in a new activivty helps.

A new activity with a goal is even better.

In college, I would spend more time with friends outside of my main cricle of friends & go to different bars & other places that I normally wouldn't go.

Now I will take a diffent route to work.
Exciting. I know.

I think about where in my life I am stuck. I think about where I want to go and what I want to do. Then I think of the steps I need to take to make that a reality. I also ask myself what am i getting out of being stuck. The answer is usually nothing good. That usually motivates me to get moving.

While healthier, that seems much harder than dying your hair!
