I've been using the countdown reference on the Knot. It's a great way to keep track of what to do when!!

I would say the hall, then photographer, then dress, then BM and FG dresses, then florist.

But not everyone does it in this order!!

However, it's your choice what you book first, there's not 'set guideline'

I booked my florist before I picked out my BM dresses. You can always change the colors if necessary.

I think the 'normal' order is your dress, BM dresses then florist. I did florist, my dress then BM dresses - so what do I know! When you go to the florist, it is good to have an idea of the color of your BM dress (I know I am getting light blue - so that was enough for the florist to work on color scheme, etc).

As for BM dresses - I had a strapless style picked out before I got my dress. But now my dress is strapless (I swore I would never get strapless and yet here I am) and I'm not sure if I want the BM in strapless too! So it is probably safer to wait on the BM dresses - but if you LOVE a certain style - go for it!

I picked my dress to match the bouquet I wanted! First I had a dress with detail that did not go with black magic roses, which I love. So I got a second dress in ivory that went perfectly with my bouquet. The BM dresses we chose to go with the flowers.

1 Hall
2 Photographer
3 Band
4 Florist

Florist isn't as crucial because they can handle doing more than one wedding a day--other vendors like band cannot...

We booked

hall, church, band, photographer/videographer, florist. We went in the order our how important each was to us. My dress I ordered lat august but I knew which one I wanted & my BMs I ordered their dresses in march even though I knew what I wanted the a year before that. Unfortunately vendors book up fast, if you think a certain aspect of the wedding is important to u, then book that first because the good ones get booked first.

I'm almost positive what BM dresses I want. I have no idea what my gown will be. I have an appt to meet a florist on Wednesday.

Am I doing this all wrong?

Am I supposed to have my gown picked out first, then BMs, then flowers?

I have no idea how to plan this wedding!
