I just adopted an 8 pound chihuahua and he walks me as well. I bought him the harness, but he chewed it off. I use the regular colar, but sometimes he does seem to choke himself.

I am getting a dog trainer to come to my apt next week, so I will share some tips with you after our meeting.

Missy has a Haltie. It works good when you are walking them. They walk right next to you when they have it on. The only bad thing is that, at least with Missy, is that she takes forever to find a spot to go to the bathroom and with the Haltie on it prevents her from not sniffing to find a spot. They also do not like it on them at all. You have to slowly get Annie used to it.

Bella doesn't like the leash & collar at all... She likes her harness!!

You can get the harness at Petco. I had one on my dog, which worked out really great as far as walking him, it felt safe. But my vet said if you want to train him to obey, you have to use the neck kind. We just got him one and he's still getting used to it.
