If I could do it all over again....

I would choose a reception hall that didn't screw up a night I spent a year planning.

What would you do if you could do it all over agin?

Here, here!

I would not do a single thing over. We had the day we imagined- and all of the planning, and details were so worth it! Everyone commented on the little things, and I was so so so happy with every single one of our vendors!

I love this thread. Its comforting to hear that i'm not the only bride who wish they could change a few things.

wow! what happened?

If I could change 1 thing, I would have spent more time with my OOT family. I barely had the chance to talk to them for more than a few minutes at the reception

Our day was pretty nice, we had some problems w/ our limo bus and the hall was really cold on one side and really warm on the other.. but otherwise it was perfect..

sounds silly but... I wished I reapplied lipstick more and powdered my face. Take the few minutes..

Hired a different florist!!!!

Good thing she is no longer a vendor, she messed up a lot of other peoples weddings too.

Luckily, my one regret is not vendor related. I would have stood firm and NOT invited the people who crashed my bridal shower to the wedding. They stressed me out by adding people to their rsvp's, and one of them made a fool of himself by serenading us. (don't worry, story to follow).

More than that, they took up the spaces of LIW ladies that I would have preferred to have. I caved into the pressure to invite the crashers b/c they are distant family, and i regret it.

oh NO!! those awful people came to your wedding?? I'm so sorry Rebecca!! But I guess it could have always been worse (that's what I tell myself when something bad happens)

I would have been a little more detailed in how I wanted my centerpieces, they were nice but not how I pictured. Oh and i would have stuck to the NO KIDS rule. and said oh well to In laws.

I agree I would have done my makeup first that way I would not have had to rush. I may have been able to take all the pictures I wanted before the ceremony. I missed a lot of pics because of this. I wore my veil towards the back because most of my pics don't show my hair.

i would have extended my reception by an hour.

If I had to do it over again, the ONLY thing I would have done differently was make sure my bestfriend was in the bridal party. We had a fight with him a couple of months before the wedding and JT told him he didn't want him to be the bestman anymore. I will always regret not having him in the bp since we made up before the wedding and our friendship is better than ever.

Had a second photojournalist rather than the second 'traditional' photographer I let my Mom talk me into!

I would hire a different DJ and request more traditional pics. I think we had 5 out of 700.

I wouldn't change anything--it was all wonderful...except I would have gotten a bigger shuttle to take people back from the watermill to the hotel--it took forever because we didn't think so many peopel would stay at the ohtel. I ended up waiting at the Watermill till 1:45 & the reception ended at 12.

probably would have hired a different photographer... my pics are good and he got everything... but they're just not as 'wow' as other wedding pics i've seen....
i also probably should have taken a few more minutes going around to the tables to say hi to other people... i was having such a fun time dancing that i think i neglected a little bit of my 'responsibilities' that way....
other than that, we had an awesome day... the caterer did great, the hall looked great, everything went smoothly....

Wish i could've spent more time with some of my out of town guests. I had family that come over from England and i literally spoke to them for 10 minutes.

Wish the reception could've lasted longer..

other than that.. it was absolutely perfect!!!!

oh yeah, and i missed dancing with one of my good friends because we kept missing each other.

I agree.

And maybe, just maybe I would have picked another location. Everything was incredible, but the headache...... !

Re: If I could do it all over again...

Not taken so many shortcuts ... being a full time student at night while working during the day didn't give me much time to spend on planning my wedding and I took many shortcuts. All in all I was satisfied with my wedding day. My BIGGEST shortcut mistake however was with the guest list. We were 15 short of our minimum because some of the people I insisted on inviting that I was positive would come were my NOs and that absolutely stunned me and I took those no's personally! It still hurts when I think about it. Oh and one more thing ... I regret putting the right time on the invitation for the ceremony (which was at the hall); there were so few people at the ceremony; 70% of our guests were 30 minutes late!
