Aww, this is hard, I can tell..

Did you ask the FMIL & FSIL if they would come to your shower if FH picked them up? Maybe they feel like they're outsiders and won't fit in or feel comfortable. Are there any other members of FH's family that are going>? If they were warm to you at their home, there must be something else behind why they wouldn't attend your bridal shower.....

That sounds absurd that they feel they only got invited to be polite!?!?!?!?!?! Have they never received an invitation to another bridal shower, or baby shower or for that matter any party whatsoever? That is completely illogical of them to think that way!!!
