I've decided to fill in the blanks myself & therfore, Sawyer became nasty con-man again, b/c he was startignto fall in love with Kate & as in his flashback, Sawyer can't handle emotional attachements, so he turns evil as a defense.
DH wants to know how Charlii was able to track Locke without gettign caught.
I guess we could surprise that he learned a thing or two from Locke when thye were buds, but I think he got away with it, b/c Hobbits are tiny & people ignore them.

Actually, I thought it was better than it has been lately. I totally didn't suspect Charlie to be in on it w/ Sawyer.

Yeah, I see your point. I think it at least needed 1 or 2 more spisodes showign Charlie's anger, so that it would still be a surprise, yet not so out of place.

Nothing really ever flows properly. It didn't seem more out of place than anything else that has ever gone on. Come on!

[It's almost as if LOST is coasting on its 'LOSTness'
I completely agree. I wonder how long people will hang in.

Re: LOST: the long yawn
Oh it wasn't all that bad. Though I do admit, it was the first time I fell asleep before the end of the show! (I DVR'd it and watched it late after the Grammy's)
See, I think what they did was just remind us of who Sawyer really is. They didn't really change his character. Last night was like a 'Hey, don't forget, he's a bad guy.' Probably because they need that to come in to play soon.
What happened last night was in true Sawyer form. He's got that dysfunction where he wants to be hated. He got injured, he was being nice to KateHo, he was almost even a hero for taking the raft. People were starting to like him. And he couldn't let that happen. It was time to be the Jerk again. And so, Sawyer's back.

The con in this episode marked him as cruel, which his character isn't. He's completely selfish and pre-occupied with self-preservation, but he's not evil.
Why do you think this marked him as cruel? I also am not sure I saw him as evil in this episode.
I think there is a redemption coming.

Re: LOST: the long yawn
I saw him as more insecure, than evil, but his reverting to old ways did come out of nowhere. I think it is partly b/c they want to maintan an element of surprise, & because ther are somany charactreers & sub-plots on the show now, that they can't spend too much time on anyone character, so they didn't really have time for a build up.
But then again I am a soapfan, so I am used to storylines draggin gon forever & then all of a sudden & character making an about face for no reason & or becomes part of an insta couple, with no chemistry. . .I guess I don't really question it any more.

Re: LOST: the long yawn
Wow...I can't believe that after last night's episode, people think LOST is boring!
That huge Sawyer twist convinced me that these writers know EXACTLY what they are doing- b/c even I doubted them after so many questions have been unanswered. But the true theme of the show is all about 'having faith'
The Long con episode brought back my faith in this show and expecially in the acting abilities of Josh Holloway....le sigh....if only he and I werent married

Re: LOST: the long yawn
My problem with the show was why did it take him 45+ days to decide he was going to take over? That's what I couldn't get on board with. I mean, how many times has JackAsssss gone and taken 'his' stuff??????
And while I thought Charlie's involvement was cool, I didn't really buy it either ... all of the sudden because Locke decked him, he's all sneaky and violent? I think it's only a matter of time before it comes out and Jin goes crazy on him and it's annyeonghi kaseyo Hobbit!!!!

Well..because of what went down, nobody likes Charlie... I completely forgot about him. Locke decking him was the final straw. But maybe he was seeing stuff...that will come out later.
I have a feeling sides will be drawn because of Sawyers actions...and there will be another accident as everybody thinks they will be...
is the guy they captured next week the guy that was in the hatch at first?
do you really think they let the countdown go to 0?
