Band Stress! HELP...(very long...)
First off, I think a 50% deposit is a lot. I think common practice is 25% up front and the rest on the day of the wedding. That alone would make me weary. Second, the very fact that you are posting about them means you have a gut feeling that they might be trouble. TRUST IT! Third, ask yourself this question: Is this band so good that its worth worrying about it for the next 9 months? If the answer is no, find someone else! PS: Would you mind sharing the name of the band?

Band Stress! HELP...(very long...)
I agree with Steph. Trust your feelings about this company. You will be worried the entire time about this one vendor. Plus, why give business to someone who treats his customers so poorly. Also, I have never heard of 50% down before. That is WAY too high. Be careful with vendors who are ask for so much upfront like that. I will recommend my band, Milestone to you. I have no idea what your tastes are but they are a really great band. I am sure other brides on this site will recommend others to you. Maybe you should call a few and talk with them. Mileston's number is 516-694-7838. They can play all types of music but I am not sure about the one you listed because I don't know what that is. Anyway, trust yourself and keep looking. There are so many bands out there, why deal with this stuff.

Band Stress! HELP...(very long...)
If you have that feeling, then I would listen to it. It is horrible to have to call with questions and not knowing what kind of attitude you are going to get. You are paying them. That does seem like alot that you had to put down. I only had to put down 1/4 of the money for my band and I think the rest is owed at the wedding. How many other bands did you look into??

Band Stress! HELP...(very long...)
I agree with everyone so far...Look at it like this too - if they are treating you like this 9 months before your wedding just because you're asking simple questions (like any normal bride would do), then how are they going to treat you on the most important day of your life - your wedding day! You should be treated with respect the entire time, and from what you've said, that doesn't seem to be the case...I would hate for you to stress about the music, which we all know is a very important part of the reception...keep the faith - their are too many good bands out there to settle! The best of luck to you and please keep us posted...

Band Stress! HELP...(very long...)
Funny you should mention Timepiece b/c that is the band I booked! Have you discussed the possibility of them learning a few of the songs you wanted. The band seems to have a lot of range so I would surprised if they couldn't do it. Not to mention they are also more than 1K cheaper than the band that is giving you headaches.Welcome New Vendors
