I think the halls do give out our #s. I've gotten numerous call from vendors for the Watermill, where the person specifically said they got my # from Watermill. From LIweddings, I've gotten both snail and email solicitations (limos, linda's lovlies,etc.).

Yes, I got a call from Spitz and Peck florist, who are on the Watermill's list. I actually already had an appt w/ them, and told the lady when she called, and she apologized b/c she didn't know. A couple of other vendors (limos and photo) also called; can't remember names, b/c they mostly call and leave a msg during the day when I'm not home. But I do remember them saying 'we're the house vendors at the Watermill'.

LIWeddings soliciations

I have recieved mulitple emails, mailings and phone calls from several vendors on LIweddings. As soon as I entered the most recent contest they started up the next day. I also specified in the comments for no solicitations. How can we stop this annoyance? I love the board but I didn't book anyone who called me out of the blue. All my vendors were by word of mouth or seeing them for myself. It is just down right annoying.

They do tell you that they are going to do it

When I booked with CB, they did say they are going to have the house recommended vendors give you a call. WHen they did I told them I already had that particular service booked and they never called again. Happy planning all

I told Watermill's party planner during our first mtg that we had a photographer and DJ picked out. But, they still called.

but someone from their list called you right? I had someone from a photography place who advertises on liweddings call me and say they got my name thru fox hollow

But you have to realize any one of a number of people can call all of us, just because of all the many places we`ve attended shows, entered contests, filled out bridal info in registries, etc. Your names and wedding info. end up on more lists than you can even remember...and alot of times you automatically put down your wedding date, place, etc.

that is true, however the calls on my cell started when I began to use this site so I think it is the vendors here

My FH won't even answer the phone anymore.

The calls are just non stop and quite annoying. Sometimes they tell me where they got my number from and other times they don't. I've just been telling them that I have all my planning completed or I ask them for their web site address and tell them that I will call them if I'm interested.

I have gotten tons of calls and I am not a Scotto Brother's

I am not getting married at one of the Scotto places but I get calls and mailings. I doubt it is from liweddings since I never put my phone number on any liweddings.com registery information. But when you subscribe to any of the bridal books they sell the info, and there are tons of other places they get it. Attend just one bridal showcase and you will get tons of calls and mailings.
