We're getting married at St. Sebastian Church in Woodside, Queens. The priest asked us all the questions at our first meeting but I don't have a list.

Re: Catholic-getting married in Brooklyn or Queens?
The FOCUS test is a almost like a standaridized test, much like the Myers-Briggs personality test, if you are familiar with that. Some parishes do it in the Diocese of Rockville Centre, some do not. (My parish does NOT for example.) It is in conjunction with Pre-Cana, not in lieu of... you sitll must do Pre-Cana regardless of whether or not you take this test, although the parishes that do use FOCUS use much of that information to structure their PreCana sessions.

It's a list of questions about marriage/relationships/family that they have you and your FI fill out and then they compare your answers to help facilitate discussion. If they haven't mentioned it you probably don't have to take it.
I got married in Queens, St Helens in Howard Beach and my Dh and I had to take it.

We didn't have to take it. Just pre-cana and a quick chat with the priest in which he ran down a list of yes/no questions.

Oooooh! My parents were married at St. Sebastian's. Are you getting married in the big church or the chapel?
(apologies for hijacking the thread!)

Re: Catholic-getting married in Brooklyn or Queens?
FOCCUS is a test... basically a standardized personality/values test. You take it and your fiance takes it and you see how and to what extent you differ or are similar in personality, values, etc.
