I also know, from the research I've done about T.S., that the more the person tries to suppress the tics, they worse they get. SO it could be that while at the movie, he knew he was disturbing other people and he wanted to stop, but that made it worse.

I can't even imagine what that's like!

I worked with a woman and her grandson had this. It just happened. it killed her as well. he has both outbursts and the tics. I know she said they had medicine that could either help with tics and restlessness or the outbursts. The parents opted for the medicine to help the tics because he always looked like he was in pain. Our job closed up so I dont know how he is doing now. But I just remembered her pain and being so upset.

I'm an ESL teacher and have observed many many kindergarteners. Young children understand when another child is different. Even with the ESL children the other children are very protective of them. They are all so helpful and accommodating. They take care of each other and adapt to the differences. Kindergarten classes are like familes. I think Gabe will create many friends and they will understand some things might not be 'normal' but they will accept him and think of him as part of the class. Your son is beautiful. HTH
