Only about $2500. Unlike most brides, I don't see the need to pay tons of money for pics I'll only really look at for the first year.

I was hoping to find someone to take pictures only and just sell me the proofs. I will make my own albums etc. I was also hoping to pay only like $500. I wonder if that is possible?

We are paying close to $5K for photos- Mark Kauffman studios (Lynn and Roy). Photos was our top priority. I disagree that you only look at photos for the 1st year. My parents still have there photo hanging in their home, plus other family members do too. When I took pre-cana the couple had their album on their table. They said they leave it out to remind them of their wedding day.
I think photos are the one thing that will outlast the wedding day- other than the marriage. Video and Photos are what you will show your children and grandchildren someday. I still remember looking at my grandmother's wedding photos.

$500 is going to be a hard budget to work with. You might want to post on the vendor board too. But I have not seen anyone for that price. Becareful not to hire a student or a 'friend'. A girl on another site had her photographer call in sick the morning of her wedding- and he was a art student. There was no contract and even if there was you cannot really sue a 20 year old for not showing up. And even if you did you still have no photos.

We're paying about $7K, but that includes video. And I needed to get an extra parent album, video, etc. since my parents are divorced.
