Re: Yay the invitations are OUT!!!!!!
Im so jealous! I spent most of Saturday assembling my invites and dragged them into Manhattan's 24 hour PO to be hand cancelled - only to find out that the HAND CANCEL WINDOW IS CLOSED SUNDAYS!Hello? Why didn't anyone tell me this on the phone.
Oh well, it will have to wait another day.

Re: Yay the invitations are OUT!!!!!!
I had to 'hand cancel' mine myself too! With the price of stamps...you'd think they'd do this for you!
Isn't it exciting! I get 4 or 5 responses in the mail everyday!

Re: Hand Cancelling
I had to hand cancel my STD cards...I didn't mind at all...I would think that it is required of PO to hand cancel if the patron wants it to be.
but I think the key word is 'fragile' then they have to be careful with it!!

Re: Hand Cancelling
Pepper, good for you getting those invites out! I had this tension headache after I put them in the box, like all that stress came to a head! I sent mine out on Monday morning and got 6 responses back by Thursday, more Friday and Saturday, it is so exciting! Now run, run, run to your mailbox everyday!!!

Re: Hand Cancelling
I found 60 cent stamps that look like vintage american eagles-actually-they look like a flower if you look at them quickly-they are antique-y & perfect for my theme. I used flags for response cards. Ask your PO if they have anything in the back that is different, that's what i did.

Re: Hand Cancelling
I had to use the Arcadia National Park--which is sort of fallish and goes with my theme--but I had no other choice at this particular PO in Plainview. My response was the flag which is OK. Don't get stressed about the stamp like I did, remember it is ONLY a stamp!
(BTW, they offered me the rescue workers and Harry Houdini for my response cards---eeesh!)

Well They are OUT!!! I just got back from the PO and they hand cancled them no problem
I did the same thing, eagle for the .60 and flags for the rsvp. I cant belive this is done. Now I can just sit back and wait for the response. The only think I am not looking foward to is the SEATING CHART
