Re: Favors

We are making donations to the Amercian Diabetes Assoc. I am making scrolls and tying them with a ribbon attached to an organza bag filled w/ hershey's kisses. My dad is diabetic so it means something. I hope people will like it.

Re: Favors

We're doing frames with the placecards (probably larger than placecard frames) in them and CD-ROMs. My FH is a designer and interactive programmer so he does this professionally. It's going to be a photo album set to music, which starts the day we were born (yes, we were born the same day of the same year!) and shows us growing up, then meeting and dating, and finally planning for the wedding (we're taking photos as we plan). It will be packaged nicely in a CD case. We think this will be a nice way to also recognize all our friends and family. What do you think?

Re: Favors

We made donations to AHA and ADA to honor our late fathers. We also made (ok, my mom made) a scroll to *announce* the donation and we attached it to an organza bag full of Lindt truffles! YUMMM!!

Re: Favors

I made these ceramic refrigerator magnets myself...not very elegant, but hopefully they'll get stuck on the fridge! They are all different. I'm going to wrap them in toule with ribbon, and I'm also using bud vases around the tables that can be taken home as favors...
geez you have to make these pics small! They are actually 2.5X2.5 inches big. and they say, 'to make you feel my love' which is our song, along with our names and date at the bottom...

Re: Favors

We are doing a set of 6 wineglass charms in an organza bag with our tag attached(1 set per couple, we really don't have any singles) and we are using the pewter chairs as place card holders. We also had chocolate covered mints made(Fi's favorite)
Edited to post that I can't get my pictures to post on here-See my profile for pics

Re: Favors

We are doing CD's - but we're adding in movie clips from things like When Harry Met Sally and The Princess Bride along with music - and we're also doing homemade jelly in little jars. I haven't figured out yet exactly what I'm doing to decorate them. Well, we'll print lables up that i'm trying to design that will hopefully coordinate with the CD labels in some way - and probably fabric over the top tied with ribbon.

Re: Favors

The FH is a VP for a tabletop (cutlery, dinnerware, kitchenware, etc.) company, so we get some little perks.

Re: Favors

We're doing a couple of things:

- 6' mikasa bowls
- really cute red heart ornaments (will be looped through the ribbon on top of the wrapped bowl)
- placecards that each have 3 of those paper mini red roses wrapped in satin on them (the ones is Michael's) and this will be held in a rose pewter place card holder.
- and you can't forget the jordan almonds at an Italian wedding!!

Just a note, we got teh bowls in teh Mikasa outlet in Riverhead (saved us alittle money, plus they have ahuge selection) and i am wrapping them (Gulp) myself to save money.... won't help my sanity none but it willl save money!

Re: Favors

I'm still thinking about doing:

silver plated 4x6 photo albums
cermaic pot with seeds
oversized coffee mug with packet of coffee/teas

Whatever I do, I am also using red, white & blue M&Ms (wedding date is 7/4/03) and probably sparklers with matches.
