ps- most everyone calls me Lau, and I sign emails to friends 'Lau'. Cause it's easier to type than 'Laurie'.

If you are psycho, then I am too. I am the same way. My 'name' is Kathleen. I answer to Kathleen, Kat, Kathy, SuperKat, etc. When I sign a letter, I feel awkward ending it with 'Kathleen'. I also struggle with the exit greeting. Should I say 'talk to you later' 'best regards' 'love you' blah blah.

I understand. My name is Sophie. Some people call me Sophia. Since I cannot stand it...I correct them on the spot.

Otherwise, I let it slide when people call me Soph.

I am Cindy, NOT Cynthia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how many times I have had to convince people what my name is. They ask 'Well, what does it say on your birh certificate?' I'd love to turn around and respond, 'It says you're a moron now leave me alone!!!!!!!!!'

I'll respond to Cin, the girls at work call me Cindy Lou Who, I've had friends call me Cinderella; that's all fine and dandy. But under NO circumstances will I ever acknowledge Cynthia.

I sign work emails Suzanne. If a like someone I sign Suz (DH gets Suza). If I am mad at someone I like (and usually sign Suz for them), I will sign Suzanne. Ouch, right?

Sometimes I go as far as Regards, Suzanne

I hate it when new people call me Pat. Or Patty. That is not how I shorten my full name.

I never use Patricia. Now that my last name is one syllable, I switched from Trish to Tricia. That was what my family always called me anyway.

I have an automatic signature on my emails that says Tricia, so there's no guess work.

My name is nancy. It's bad enough I hate this name, but nothing irks me more than when people think they are 'friends' with me and rock 'nance'

I HATE NANCE. NANCE is an immediate sign to me and anyone that is friends with me, that you do not know me well. Real friends (if they must) call me Nan for short.

so many people call me Mat or Tilly - i have just given up

sometimes if i am feeling mean, i will go into a whole long story about how my name is the only thing i have from my grandma who passed before i was born and that is why i dont want to shorten it in any way - that makes people feel bad and then they remember it

online i am tilde - which i love bc it still has the E which makes me special
