Think of your background (Irish- get a step dancer or play some music that reflects your background.)

Or you can think of a theme based on a color.

Your getting married in Dec. what about a Christmas theme of a winter wonderland using a snowflake design on things....

My venue is unique. It's different from traditional rehearsal halls.

fh and i love to watch broadway shows so our theme pertains to that... from ceremony music to RH. the tables are named after the musicals we've seen together.

During dinner, our DJ will be playing Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin videos (we have plasma screens as part of our package). We're not really into those singers, but we wanted relaxing music and since our families are both Italian, I'm sure they'll get a kick out of it.

We are having a boy choir come in for the ceremony which I think might add a really nice holiday touch to the night...especially since the ceremony will be held at the castle. Hopefully this works out and nobody goes deaf by the end of it all!!

I would like a belly dancer for my eparty, not for my wedding. I would like to bring in traditional greek dancers to do a piece at my wedding. Cigar roller in kinda unique. I am having a martini bar at my wedding, I have never seen one at other weddings so thats unique in a way. I want to break plates at my wedding, YES BREAK PLATES, very traditional in the Greek custom. I have never seen anyone do that, I hope my RH allows it

We are doing something similar, we have a Sinatra singer and our families will love it!

We are having a handbell choir play at our ceremony Plus we are giving everyone a candle with their program and then the acolytes will light everyone's candle and then we will light our unity candle. The priest is then going to say something about joining not only us, but our friends and family

OMG this is AWESOME! Can you share what you've chosen? I'm a huge broadway person.

Most of the people on this board already knows- I have a Yankees baseball theme. Tables numbered after players, placecards as tickets attached to bags of peanuts & cracker jack, pennants will be waved outside the church instead of ribbon wands, navy and white colors, BP will be introduced as players.

My secondary theme is musical - all musical events are Bon Jovi songs (cake cutting, bo-k toss, etc), since Bon Jovi is the other reason we met!

I went to a wedding once where the bride and groom grew up in really rural farm areas and got married on a farm too, and instead of a regular band they had banjos. It was definitely different, but made it really hard to get excited to dance to during the reception

At our aunt's anniversary party she hired a couple to dance tango during dinner. It was very cool. Something different.

GO YANKEES!!! LOL! FH and I loves the Yankees!!! weeee!!!! Love your Yankee theme!!!

We basically hired a soprano and tenor for the ceremony so they will be singing: All I ask of you (Phantom of the Opera), This is the Moment (Jekyll and Hyde), I Believe my Heart (The Woman in White)... and I can't seem to remember the other song!!! They will start singing 20 mins before the ceremony for a mini-concert (singing broadway and disney songs)

For the reception, we have 22 tables (approx) and they will all be named after the broadway shows/musicals we've seen together. Mother-son dance will be the song when Kala and Tarzan were singing their goodbyes (Tarzan Broadway show)... I can't remember the title!!! Sorry, am tired from work so my brain is not working well.

The top five musicals we love are:
Wicked
Aida
Les Miz
Ms. Saigon
Rent

I'm not sure if this is too unique, but we're doing almost like a martini/drink theme. We're having the martini bar at our cocktail hour, all the table centerpieces are large martini glasses with flowers inside them and around them, and each table is going to be named after a different drink that we love, and the favors for that table will be little bottles of liquor that go with that drink. One of the BM's at my RH helped me to come up with the table/favors idea!

Awwww!!! If you needed a singer for your ceremony, I'd totally be up your alley, but you're already done! I used to perform in musicals professionaly before I became a music teacher in the public schools (I still perform on occasion though). I would LOVE to do a wedding like that- SO COOL!
