Re: Is anyone doing special lighting effects?

Doesnt the DJ do the lighted monogram. I went to a wedding and they had the monogram shining on the walls and floors and the DJ was doing all that. I wanted to have my RH's ceiling dressed in tulle and lights but its too low of a celing and the way its designed it wouldnt look right

We're having a live band, too, and we're no doing lighting. It's not my personal taste.

Plenty of people do it, though, so if you like it, go for it.

Re: Is anyone doing special lighting effects?

You could always hire a lighting company to do it for you, or if you just want your monogram on the floor and no other lighting, you can rent a GOBO machine.

Luminous Designs did the lighting for this year's TWOTY and it looked awesome. Their lighting packages start at $1000.

We're doing our monogram in lights for our reception (our 'theme' is our monogram) so I personally don't think it's too gawdy. Our DJ is doing it for us as part of our package.

I like the monogram lights also, I hope my DJ does that, its not gawdy at all, its a nice touch

were hiring a lighting company as well. i like that look a lot. were also doing the monogram thing on the wall (monogram thanks to mrs q in 2007!). i think lighting sets the mood of the party.

Re: Is anyone doing special lighting effects?

The dj can do it- and i think even some bands have stuff with them. its personally not my style so we're not doing it. i love a room filled with candles and dimmed lights instead.
