Re: NWR: What would you do?

Hmmm... that is tough. I think that depending on how she is handling it. If she is still holding him up and saying he was a great guy and it was all me, then I would tell.... if she is already mad and is getting over him, then I wouldn't. What a jerk!!

It is hearsay, therefore it is a rumor, and rumors are seldom true.
Leave it be and don't repeat it. It won't do any good to your friend, except to really hurt her.

Hmmm, that's tough. Does she think he might have cheated? I dated this guy for about 2 years and after we broke up a friend of mine (who is now one of my best friends) told me that he hit on her many times and tried to hook up with her but she didn't tell me because she knew I wouldn't believe her. She had wanted to tell me so many times but didn't want to lose our friendship.I told her she was right because I was so naive and into him, like how could he do this? If you know for sure it's true, I would tell her. It just shows what scum he is and how much better she is without the lowlife. If it's hearsay, I'm sure she might have heard it before.

It is a rumor, so I would let it be. I think she's going through plenty already.

What if a (best) friend of yours was dating a guy (saving for a ring) for many years and they broke up because he was not sure if he could marry her. You found out afterward that he might have cheated (hearsay), do you tell? Or let it be, since she already is broken hearted!

Let it go., I am in the same situations., why bring it up., its done and overwith.

Tough call. I personally wouldn't bring it up unless I knew for sure. However, since they aren't even together anymore, I'd let it go.

No sense in rubbing salt into the wound...

I'd let it be, (especially since you aren't sure)they aren't together anymore and most likely it would only hurt her.

I agree, she probably is going through enough already and is hurt, why add to that with knowing he also cheated on her, won't make a difference now bc they're broken up regardless

If they are already broken up. There is no reason to tell her. If you think it might aid in her recover, I still wouldn't say anything until you knew for sure.
