Maybe, but, if you busted your azz for a law degree, you might want to it to be recognized too.

yeah i tend to agree with you..they work so hard for that title that sometimes they deserve to be recognized for it. FH wrote a 250 page disseration and had to defend it infront of a panel of 6 people.

umm...I'm not one to argue but FH is busting his bootie right now in the FDNY acadmey but that doesn't mean he's going to be introduced as FIREFIGHTER AND Mrs!!!

agreed...John served a tour in iraq and fought for our freedom

and he risks his life everyday as a suffolk cop

there are alot of things im sure hed like to be reconized for...but the wedding isnt the place in my opinion..

but I guess its different because its not like he has a Title or anything to be called by...I think if I busted my butt in law or med school id wanna use my title all the time lol

Thank you John!

HEHE thank you Garrett!!

I just wanted to say thank you to all those FDNY, SCPD and Marines and Soldiers , Sailors and Officers...

But say CONGRATS to all those who earned a well deserved and hard working degree such as a Doctor, Esq and etc.

haha love ya too

I just found this topic to be kinda similar to addressing guests on their invites. If a guest is a Doctor wouldnt you write Dr. and Mrs. Yadda Yadda?? I know I would. And when I invite some people from Fh's last unit we are going to write on their invites Gunery Sergant ____ & Mrs. I though it was just etiquette. But I guess it is different with yuo being announced. It wouldnt bother me if the bride and groom were introduced like that if they felt it necessary. I mean I always joke around with FH that I want a Marine Corps wedding with the color guard doing the swords outside the church even though everyone knows he is a Marine. I don't think FH is too keen on that idea though lolol

But yea...I just wanted to say congrats and thank you to everyone. Not everyone hears it and they should especially if they are defending our country or earning such wonderful degrees. I mean its kinda funny and silly but I say thank you from time to time to FH when he gets all stressed and stuff because he is doing a job i know alot of people wouldnt want...

you bropught up a good piint though catie.

not that i want to start thisup again.. BUT yes many times people in the military are represented as such because they wear their uniform AND often have the color gaurd like you just said.. so in reality.. whats the difference?

I think FDNY or NYPD often does something simialr.. becaue they have the bagpipes.. whatever

in each situation Dr. OR military.. it would be telling everyone there what and who you are...
jsut had to say that cause someone brought it up!

completely agree with you. I was just making the invitation point stating that who cares if you announce yourself at the wedding as Dr. you acknowledge other people on the invite with their title. But I mean I am probably going to be bashed for saying this hahaha (especially if FH found out) but a Doctor or Esq is different than A Marine or something. Marines and other military offliates have titles but not recognized out in the civilan world. I mean when you go for an interview a Doctor will be addressed as Doctor. But when FH goes for an interview he wont be address as Sergant. So Iguess that was my point. That as yea those men and women work their butts of i know first hand but I would say it is slightly different haha sorry MY OPINION hahaha

Thanks Gina though....I dont want ot start this issue again either haha
