.....

I'm 23 days away and I am DOUBTING EVERYTHING about my wedding.

Now I'm wishing I chose different flowers, different vendors... maybe waited a little longer to plan the wedding.

I don't know, I KNOW we are doing whats best for us (staying within budget) but part of me just feels like this isn't going to be my DREAM wedding and it BUGS me.

Its ONE DAY. I KNnoOOoooW its going to be an amazing time... I just can't shake the feeling that there is something MISSING from the wedding. Something unique.

Please tell me some of you have had these kinds of doubts so close to your wedding.

i think this is a common feeling towards the end of the planning. it's normal to second guess yourself especially for a day that is going to a huge part of your life. but we need to keep in mind the reason behind this day and everything else is just extras. you will have a beautiful day that you will never forget.

thank you. That makes perfect sense... I guess I just needed to hear (or read) it.

Omg honey...I am totally there with you! Maybe it's a thing that happens to a bride when she is less than a month out!! The only thing I have not reconsidered was my dress! The fact is, you picked all of your details for a reason. And the reality of the situation is, all that matters is that your loved ones are there by your side, along with DH and DS. You guys are going to have a fabulous party, you are gonna look hot, and the food, drinks and music will be phenomenal! That is all that matters!! Don't overthink this sh!t too much or you will drive yourself insane!! Enjoy the ride girl...it's almost over!

I think every bride has doubts about her wedding and the planning.
Don't worry about it, don't let it get you down.

Everything will be fine, you made your original choices based on what you like. You wouldn't have picked the flowers if you didn't like them, right ?

My only regret is having a daytime instead of an evening wedding. I am in such a time crunch because of this, and I won't be able to be married out of my house. I have to go to the salon for hair and makeup then straight to the RH to get dressed and ready for photos before he ceremony.
I would have liked to have had some pics at my home, and to do the German tradition of decorating the bride's doorway with a garland of flowers.
But, what is done is done.

Yes! i think everyone goes through this phase a few weeks before their wedding...i changed my CP vases two days before my wedding! And i wouldve changed my flowers too but DH was like no were not changing them youre nuts! lol thank god we didnt change them. I also quesitoned my dress...basically everything. Its all nerves that is making you feel this way and its totally normal. Your day will be amazing and youre going to have a beautiful wedding!

its okay---this is normal. i think alot of times the problem is that when you reach around the 2 months or less mark--particuarly with just 1 month to go----you have sooooo much time to THINK about your choices. we spend a lot of time picking vendors and making choices, that when its all done and there's nothing left to plan, just wait for the day, we totally OVERTHINK each and every decision. why do we do this? cause we have nothing more to do in 'planning' the wedding, and we need to pick apart everything

don't worry--you picked your vendors for a reason and you will be fine!!!!!!

OMG thats totally normal. The thing is these are such big decisions that you are so worried about making the 'right' one. Dont doubt yourself you will drive yourself CRAZY. Everything will be absolutly perfect. I know what you are going through I did the same exact thing. Luckily I had people that were like NO haaa made it a lot easier. Good Luck!!!

Re: .....

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!

I'm sitting here in tears b/c Im so appreciative..

I *know* its going to be fabulous... FH & I have very LARGE and wild families who love to dance... we can't wait until the 2 meet on the dancefloor. So I know its going to be a party.

Our friends are really funny and wild, so i KNOW the RD will be a blast and EVERY ONE of our close friends is staying at the hotel afterwards... (I'm talking like 75 people) we've already made arrangements for the bar to stay open.. And we're holding a brunch on Saturday morning,. so i know the social aspect of the wedding is going to be amazing.

I think I'm stressing b/c we didn't want to go OVERBOARD with our budget so we set a modest budget and tried to stay underneath. Which we have... so we won't be IN DEBT afterwards...

Thing is... when I first started planning I just wanted it to be a few months out. It worked for me b/c I had no clue what I wanted or what to do, it kind of forced me to DO IT... Now that I have alittle more experience (thankfully to all you gorgeous ladies) I'm wishing I held out for what i REALLY wanted.

I love my photographer but I'm wishing I booked a more expensive and 'artsy' photographer..

I don't know, I have a unique style and there has to be SOME WAY to represent that in our wedding. I'm creating menus, programs and our favor cards (a donation) but it just doesnt seem like its me.

oy... i dont know... I'm just confused

I totally understand what you are saying. I have been doubting everything lately - we even went so far as to change the RH two weeks ago but really for good reason the BM was pissing me off alot!

Just try to take a deep breath and know that everything will be beautiful and you will be marrying the love of your life!

dont worry! it's normal!! i kept flip flopping decisions the whole time.

like you said, you both have big fun wild families, and that's what makes the wedding! When everyone is on the floor dancing. by than you wont care the flowers you have, what your color scheme is,what dress you are wearing or all the little things that brides stress about.

and you are pretty much ahead of the game- most brides worry about not enough people dancing but i dont think you will have that problem!

you'll have a great wedding!!

Are you making the same mistake that I'm making and watching platinum weddings

I kept telling FH that we had to shut it off because it was depressing me - $18,000 on CENTERPIECES! Mine were $9.99 each at the Christmas Tree Shop!

From my experience, most guests remember the food, music and company. I couldn't even tell you what my friends centerpieces looked like - and her wedding was June 30th! I don't even remember what I ate, but I do remember that I was up dancing all night and had a great time.

All of these details are wonderful, and special, but at the end of the day they're not 'important.' And I don't mean that to belittle what anyone is doing - he$$ I spent 4 times my budget on invitations that will get thrown out because I liked them better! But really what's important is the marriage, having your friends and family there supporting you and having fun!

Oh absolutely, I went through phases where I hated everything I had picked. Don't worry about it, the problem is that there is just too many options. In the end, the big picture is what really matters and you're going to be so happy with everything that you've done.

yes, it is normal and honestly as much as this site has helped me, it played a huge part in me 'doubting' my choices. You have to really try not to get caught up in all the LIW hype. Your day will be beautiful and you will have a blast!!!

i felt the same way....but in hindsight and on the day of, everything looked beautiful. i would ve done a lot of things differently, but whats done is done!

done stress it! i m sure everything will look amazing and you and your guests will be blown away! dont worry about the little things! youre getting married, and thats thebest part!

I totally understand what you are saying. Try not to stress I have been so anxious and overwhelmed lately as well. Trust the choices you made.

I can completely relate. I'm also having a budget wedding. I know it will be a great time, but I am wishing I had splurged a bit more on things like photography. I love my photographers, but like you I wish I had gotten someone more 'artsy'. I think it comes from looking at all of the beautiful pictures from the other brides.

I know my wedding will be beautiful, but in the end it turned out a lot less 'me' and a lot more 'traditional' than I had hoped.

Totally!!! I started to get depressed when I saw new ideas on this site and I knew it was too late for me as I got really close to my date. But that day, nothing mattered in the world...it was perfect in every way and I know it will be for you too!

Re: .....

Hey - you are doing the right thing by not wanting to go into debt for a wedding and staying within your budget.
I am doing the same thing. I've also got to stop watching Platinum Weddings.
I am the last of my friends to get married, and I don't have the budget to match theirs. FH and I are paying for this ourselves without our parents help (we are both in our 40's) and I have a morgage to pay on top of it all. I've had to make concessions, but I really want to keep within my budget. I am doing the best that I can afford, and what fits to my taste.

My regret about not having an evening wedding - I keep reminding myself that the cost different is 10 grand. That's a lot of money, never mind the fact that our minimum count would have to go up by 25 people, so in reality, with additional plates, centerpieces, favors, invites, more like 12 grand.

Who is your dream photog ? Are they really that much out of your budget ? Can you cancel the one you have and rebook ? Can you do another photo shoot at a later date ?
Don't make your wedding like everyone elses - let your personality come thru in your menus, your programs. You seem to be a funky, carefree spirit. Find a way to let that spirit come thru.

The choices you have made now are fine. Just enjoy your day and don't worry about the should have-could have-would haves.
