Re: Gift question

i know what you mean. its not about how much a person spends. its the thought and effort that goes into the gift. but a wedding is so important to a bride and groom and you would think that a BM would find it important too and want to put a little more effort into your gift. did she help out with the shower? maybe she put money into that so felt that was party of your gift?

Re: Gift question

one of our best men didn't even give us a card. and we paid for his tux and i paid for DH's bachelor party along with the other best man

it's not about the gift, it's about the thought and effort, and unless the gift she gave you was something she knew you'd love, i'd be upset too.

she was supposed to come down and my sister offered her to stay at her place and last minute she called and said she didn't have the money to drive to ny. It was her and another bm. But they came to the shower my mom had in maine for her and her friends. She did make a couple things for that with her mom.

Re: Gift question

some people are into names even when they can't afford them. I have an ex sisnlaw like that. dead broke but all name brands. I don't think that implies money. I don't expect my bm and bf for almost 25 years to give me a gift at my wedding. she is a single mom of 4 and is flying in from fla, bought the dress and has to get the shoes etc. I am sure she won't/can't be part of the shower. I am fine with all that. She is bringing a mutual friend that lives in ny, i would think she should give a gift, but we will see. Perhaps the bags are all on the charge card???

No I understand how you feel. Its about the thought and effort. I guess also its because you know how far you would go for them and your just disappointed they didn't for you
