You are perfectly fine don't worry. Just set up dates to meet with music (band or dj), photography, videography (if you want it) so that when he is home you can get that done. You could always meet with some vendors to narrow it down then go with him to the ones you really like to make a decision. I went over the holidays to book my band, photographer and video and my wedding is in April of 04. So you if you go in march and april you will be going about the same amount of time in advance as I did. Remember there are people who plan weddings in less than 6 months and have a beautiful event.
