What about Thanksgiving weekend? You will have Thursday and Friday off, then maybe you can delay the honeymoon until your next vaction.

That is why i am getting married Memorial Day weekend. This way I have a long weekend bc i will not have tenure yet. My school ends late June and I did not want a hot july wedding!!I will take my honeymoon in the summer!

I will have a long weekend as long as it does not snow!!

or would you ever consider a wed. night wedding-the day before thanksgiving? i know this is not the best day--but you may get a $deal and at least everyone has off thurs.---

I am getting married over the april break...how about that? Prices are better than summer, and it is warmer than February! Hope this helps.

To add on to 2003wedding.'s comment, cousins of ours got married on a Monday night (not near a holiday) and they saved a lot of money on their wedding. And we had a nice-size crowd plus a lot of fun!

my friend got married the sunday before president's day. Everone had off Monday and it was cheaper bc it was February and a Sunday night before a holiday..

I would take Thurs-Wed off in Nov and then take my HM over break. So maybe you can just do a long weekend in Nov.

I think that having it during over thanksgiving is a great idea. This way, you have a few days off, and you can delay your honeymoon until you can actually have the time off.

I'm also a teacher. I picked my wedding date and planned everything before I got my job. I'm getting married in May, and I unfortunately have to wait until July to take my honeymoon. I did request the Fri. before and Mon. after my wedding off. Don't you get a certain amount of personal days??
