Re: what would you do??

I wouldn't be able to tolerate someone like this on my day.

Re: what would you do??

I would think that if I was in that situation I would tell her I am sorry but when she pulled out I (as the bride) made the necessary arrangements around her NOT being in the BP. I would tell her it just won't work now to put her in and that I am very sorry. Kind of like you snooze you loose! Personally it sounds like she is jealous that someone is getting married and she is not and that all the focus is one the bride! It sounds like she will keep this up to the day of the wedding

I def. would not let her back in. ONce you're out (esp. under these circumstances) - you're OUT! Tell the bride to follow her 1st instincts - everything happens for a reason let it be.

I'm on the forgiving side for family. If she wanted back in, I'd let her, but I wouldn't expect anything out of her other then standing up that day. Personally, I think excluding her sends a public signal that reflects on the bride -- since the guests don't know about the drama, they just see that the sister was excluded. I also would want to try everything I could to have a peaceful relationship with her going forward, there are many Thanksgivings to look forward to. She can only cause frustration for the bride if the bride allows it.

It's easy for me to say OH HELL NO, but then again, I'm not sure what I would do if I were in the situation. It would depend on my relationship with the offending BM and if there were some extenuating circumstances that are contributing to her behavior. However, in this case, it doesn't seem as if the FSIL has anyone's interests at heart but her own. Sounds as if she has no consideration for the bride whatsoever!

What would 'her rules' be? I think in keeping things OK with FIL's I would have her back in, but not if she expects all sorts of special treatment.

She would be OUT. No discussion, no reason just OUT.

If she opted out, then she would be out, that's it!!! But the thing is I have had some problems with my FSIL, so this would be okay with my FH becaseu I gracioussly let her be in it, even though the BP is uneven.

Did the bride's FH want her to return to the BP?

I would not include her in the bridal party. She seems like she would cause too much aggravation.

I would say NO WAY. Becuase first of all, she doesnt seem like she cares about anyone but herself. She wants to be inlcuded under HER rules? What the hell is that? What happenned to the BRIDE's rules?
I don't even know how one could put up w/that crap.
First, she didnt go to the shower, then she backed out, now she doesnt want to come to RD or sit w/BP.
I say she has issues, and keep them out of the wedding. Let her be a guest, then she could sit w/who she wants and not be a nuisance to everyone else involved.

edited to say: wow, i sure do sound a little harsh, LOL, but selfish ppl like that get on my nerves
