Re: Bridal Reflections in Massapequa

One of my close friends bought her dress there and wasn't happy. They were snotty to her (After she bought the dress of course) and she had other problems...sorry I don't recall what they were exactly...) so when I got engaged I avoided that store...also I checked them out and they have complaints against them on the BBB.

I got my bm dress for my cousins wedding there and she got her dress there, we had no complaints whatsoever with them. I would go there for my dresses as well but they don't carry the dress I'm looking for.

THey were charging double the price of my Maggie Sottero dress than elsewhere. I had found it in another store first and laughed at the saleswoman when she told me the price.

For those that went, how was your experiences. If you choose not to post feel free to FM

TIA

I had a great experience there. My consultant was Darnell, she is very fashion savvy (she has multiple fashion degrees) and was very honest about my gown being a little too low cut -- it wasn't like she was trying to sell me the dress; it was more about helping me look my best. In the end we worked out a way to add a 'modesty piece' in order to make the gown perfect. I had her one-on-one both times I went. Though I should mention the first time I went there it was during the week, so it wasn't busy at all. The second time, I came back with my mom and it was a Sunday morning, but it was still pretty quiet. The dress is ordered so I can't really give a FULL review of the place until I see the finished product but so far I really like it there. They have a great selection of gowns and have trunk shows every now and then. When I was there, James Clifford was doing a trunk show and his gowns were 10% off.

I had her too! She was amazing. Its funny because we both worked at the same fashion companies in the city. How ironic???

I bought my dress at the Massapequa store. My MOH and my MIL also used them. We loved the service from beginning to end and my seamstress, Azizzi (sp?) did a wonderful job with my bustle.

I second that. I had a great experience working with Kristy on two separate occasions. She is very sweet and helpful. She definitely helped me make the decision on the gown I bought.

I am picking up my dress tomorrow. So far I have been extremely happy with everything. The woman that does the alteration (i wish i knew her name offhand) is fabulous!! They changed the neckline of my dress and it looked like the dress was designed like that.

Re: Bridal Reflections in Massapequa

I would stay away from this place. Overall I don't think they are very helpful or accomodating. I ended up purchasing my wedding dress there and ordering my bridesmaid dresses through them also, and only after it was too late did I see this place for what it really is. First of all, they tell you that they will give you a deal on their bridesmaid dresses if you purchase a wedding dress with them also. But to tell you the truth, I think they mark up their dresses so high, that by the time you get the 'discount' you really haven't saved anything at all. Second of all, the bridesmaid manager does not seem to know anything about measuring people for dresses. Not only did they measure everyone fully clothed, they tried to give everyone the smaller of the sizes if they measured between 2 sizes (my sister was a 6 on top and a 10 at the hips and she tried to get her to order the 6!). Third of all, I have heard some terrible things about their seamstresses, bad enough that I have taken my wedding dress elsewhere for alterations. Besides, they are not very accomodating with fittings, having been told, only after everything was ordered and paid for and the dresses came in, that they will only do fittings during the week. For girls who live out of town, they do fittings once a month on Saturdays. (I don't know about you, but I work in Manhattan and live close to the Queens/Nassau border, driving to Massapequa after work in rush hour traffic is absolutely pointless).

All in all, I was completely disappointed with their services and policies. They have caused me an unbelievable amount of stress, and I would recommend taking your business elsewhere, I wish I had.
