OMG!!!! She is totally insensitive to your feelings and you should tell her just that. Be careful on your choice of words because she sounds like the type to say you are jealous of her and that you are the one with the problem, not her. If she is your best friend you should be able to talk to her about this but at the same time if you were her best friend she should not have treated you with such disregard. She should have celebrated the fact that you both are planning your weddings at the same time instead of being completely self absorbed.

I completely agree!! I thought that when I found out she got engaged it would be a blast planning our weddings together but instead it's hell!

FH's brother just got engaged ... so the spotlight is now on him .. we are even sharing an engagment party AAHHH!!

mine is may 29. her's is july 11. i think i do need to write her an email explaning all this. she's in my bp and u dont see me doing all this to her. i think she needs to be told to 'calm down and relax'. is that right?

WOW !! I don't know what to say the only advice I could tell you is to NOT change your origional idea. Go with what you had and do not tell her anything you are doing! It ok to have the same color but make sure you do something unique and spectacular with it that will blow her wedding out of the water !!!!

I think when a girls get engaged its like wedding overload, and she is probably just so excited to have another friend like you to share all this excitement in. However, maybe she doesn't even realize how she is coming off. I think its best to have an honest conversation with her about this.

thanks girls for all your advice. i also talked to one of my other best friends about this and i am gonna sit down and have a talk with her. in the nicest way possible even though i wanna explode right now!! lol

I read it when I was on the train so I wanted to respond. I would sit her down and explain to how you are feeling. It is not fair that she is trying to rule the world with her wedding. You have your own wedding to worry about. Explain that you are very happy for her but you need sometime to talk about your wedding as well. You still have a lot of planning to do and need someone that will listen to you too.
