I have this motto; its your wedding you do what makes you happy. I had two, one was more of I had to have her so my mom wouldn't talk crap, and the other MOH is a very close friend of mine. If you FH wants 3 best man than he should have it that way. I regret not encouraging my DH to ask his other friend to also be his best man

I don't think so. It's your wedding, do as you wish! I have a matron and a maid of honor and FH only has one best man. FBIL gets to have 2 women on his arms for the night!
